In "The Pages of the Black Court," you are a restorer, 31, and during a night shift you find an uncatalogued book. When you read a line aloud, you stand in a courtyard of black stone – and the Keeper knows your name. The Archivist guards the pages, your brother warns you against returning. Between you and the Keeper lies an ancient bond that you can accept or break. This is pure Isekai: You are not kidnapped, you are called.
In "The Pact Under the Ice," you play Runa, 28, a bookbinder – and you have signed a pact that binds you to the Winter Court of the Fae for seven years. You haven't forgotten where you come from, but the rules of this world are different: Seasons obey not the sun, but the Court. Every decision you make changes the balance between the Courts. Isekai here means: You agreed, and now you must live with what you signed.

What does Isekai mean?
Isekai is Japanese and means "other world." It describes stories in which a person is transported from their familiar reality into a foreign, often magical world – through a book, an accident, or a pact. Unlike a journey, the transition is usually final or tied to a mission.
What is the difference between Isekai and Romantasy?
Romantasy often takes place in its own fantasy world into which you are born – you know no other reality. Isekai assumes you leave a world similar to ours. In "The Pages of the Black Court," you come from a night shift in a library – that's Isekai. In a pure Romantasy, you would be in that world from the start.
Can I as a reader really decide how I enter the other world?
Yes. In "The Pact Under the Ice," you have already signed the pact before the story begins – but you decide in flashbacks why you did it and whether you want to break it. In "The Whispering Library of Prague," you only gradually discover the crossing. You set the pace and direction.
How long is an isekai story at Everglow?
Each story comprises about 12 to 18 chapters, depending on how many decisions you make. A chapter takes 10 to 15 minutes to read. You can pause at any time and continue later – your decisions are saved.
