Ikemen

The word is used in fan vocabulary similarly to the Western term "Book Boyfriend," but focuses more on outward appearance and the effect on others. The Ikemen is the one everyone turns to look at — and who knows exactly that they do.

Narratively, that is rarely the whole appeal. The character only becomes interesting when the beauty conceals something: fatigue, a sense of duty, an obligation that holds them. The combination of facade and crack is the stuff of stories.
